The Lazy S Experience

The Lazy S opens daily from 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. for the Stampede Rodeo at 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - midnight for the Evening Show starting at 8:00 p.m. 

The Evening Show has been re-imagined.

*NEW As a result of pandemic-related impacts on the 2020 and 2021 chuckwagon racing season across western Canada, the Stampede will not be able to present the Rangeland Derby as part of the 2021 Evening Show. 

For 2021 only, the Calgary Stampede has re-imagined this double-header. Broncs After Dark will be a combination of grit, glamour, live music and celebration. Cheer on talented athletes as they compete in some of the greatest high-energy western competitions and electrifying rodeo events ever seen at the Stampede. Then as the sun sets, the Bell Grandstand Show will follow with The Young Canadians and adrenaline-filled performances that lead to a spectacular fireworks finale. 

We look forward to the return of thunder and thrill of chuckwagon racing in 2022. 


The Lazy S offers two distinct experiences - Loge Seating or Executive Suites. 

LOGE SEATING  Servers explain the dining experience and show guests where to find the QR code for food, drinks, wine and the Winemaker Series. The Winemaker Series, featuring 10 Great Days, 10 Great Wines, is presented. Beverages are ordered and prepared by the bartender or wine steward. A cellar master is also on hand to provide information and recommendations about the wines. 

At the start of their four-course meal, guests are brought a warm cheese bun. The starter, salad and dessert are set, but guests can choose from five different mains. There are a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian choices. Lunch or dinner, bottled water, soft drinks, juice, regular coffee and tea are included with a ticket. Alcoholic beverages, mocktails and specialty coffee are billed separately at the conclusion of or after the event, depending on the corporate account preference.

EXECUTIVE SUITES  It is up to the suiteholder to choose a menu their guests will enjoy. It starts with a choice of a premium or beer and wine only host bar. Chef-inspired starters and dessert are set in individual servings. A carved and flambéed item is chosen, along with a fresh salad and induction pot, all in advance though an event order form. There are a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian choices throughout the menu. Lunch or dinner, bottled water, soft drinks, juice, regular coffee and tea are included with a ticket. 

A suite attendant is assigned to each suite. Larger suites with more capacity have more than one suite attendant. Larger suites also have an in-suite bartender, otherwise a behind-the-scenes team of bartenders are in the pantry to make specialty drinks and coffee at request from the suite attendant. Support staff are assigned to suites and pantries to ensure a seamless service.

As guests arrive the suite attendant explains the dining experience and shows guests where to find the QR code for speciality drinks, coffee and the Winemaker’s Series. The Winemaker’s Series, featuring 10 Great Days, 10 Great Wines, is presented. Beverages are ordered and prepared in-suite by the suite attendant or ordered from the bartender. A cellar master is also on hand to provide information and recommendations about the wines. 

Individual starters are set in single servings as guests arrive. The suite attendant collects drink orders and ensures all the guests have something in hand before they begin to carve, flambé and serve lunch or dinner. Desserts are prepared in single servings and set before the end of the event for guests to enjoy. 

Menu selections for lunch or dinner, bar and wine choices, allergy and dietary considerations are all made in advance on an event order form. Upgrades to the menu selection, premium food additions and any spirits, beer or wine not already available on our menu can also be requested in advance. Extra charges will apply and the suiteholder will be charged based on the number of servings or guests in their suite.

An on-site event host must be assigned as our point of contact, be responsible for suite guests and who will have authorization to make additions and changes to the event order form. At the conclusion of the event a bill including alcoholic beverages, mocktails, specialty coffee, additional food upgrades or premium food and beverages will be presented to the event host and a signature will be required to sign-off on the amount. All food and beverage choices not included with a ticket are billed separately after the event to the suiteholder, according to the corporate account.


*NEW Members and Founders Club cardholders can host up to six guests, including the cardholder, in the lounge areas as long as the member or founder is present (guests must provide their own gate admission to Stampede Park).

Member and Founders Club cards permit access to lounges even if the organization has issued its Loge Seating tickets for that performance to another member of the organization or group of guests. Guests who hold a Loge Seating or Executive Suites ticket for either the afternoon or evening on the day of their event only can choose to visit the Showbar or Terrace Lounge apart from their dining experience, pending availability.

All guests are first-come, first served. A variety of menu items will be available, charges apply.

Subject to restrictions and capacity. Guests will be seated a tables for two, four or six, pending availability. 

Guests enjoying the Showbar or Terrace Lounge will have a QR code to view the menus. 


In Loge Seating, Showbar or Terrace Lounge, servers are responsible for the guest’s experience. Bartenders prepare drinks, cellar masters and wine stewards share information and recommendations on wine and there are support staff to assist in ensuring a seamless service. Guests in Loge Seating do not need to leave their seat to enjoy the Stampede Rodeo or Evening Show.

In the Executive Suites, suite attendants are responsible for all aspects of service. Pouring wine and making drinks from the host bar to carving, flambéing and serving food choices. They ensure that the guests have everything the need from start to finish and rely on their support staff so they never have to leave the guest’s sight. Guests are then escorted to the outdoor seat deck to enjoy the Stampede Rodeo or Evening Show. Suite attendants will provide in-seat beverage service throughout the performances.


The Lazy S is located at the north end on the fourth level of the Grandstand. Access is by walking only.

Access for all guests is through the entrance (red awning) beside the north doors of the Grandstand courtyard, by escalator to the fourth level.

Guests will be greeted outside the entrances to The Lazy S by Guest Service. They will be asked to present their digital ticket, Member or Founders Club card for scanning, hand sanitize, and Guest Service will ensure they are adhering to the dress code. Guests will be asked to hand sanitize upon re-entry to The Lazy S each and every time.

Guest Service will introduce venue amenities, explain our rules of play including health and safety protocols and venue re-entry procedures. Guests will be reminded that face masks must be worn at all times, unless eating or drinking, including in the Loge and while outdoors on the seat deck.

Physical distancing will be observed upon entry, exit and throughout The Lazy S. Entry will be permitted in group cohorts. 


*NEW With the health and safety of our community a top priority, the Calgary Stampede is planning and preparing to adapt to all public health orders. Under the guidance of Alberta Health Services, we will implement the appropriate and most current safety procedures and protocols to welcome guests safely. Guests are expected to follow these guidelines.
