It’s been known as The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth for nearly a century, but isn’t it time you experienced the Calgary Stampede like the movie stars who have filmed in the area?
Saddle Up in your New Duds
Before your feet even touch the 190 acres of Stampede Park, you’ll head out for some shopping at local institutions with as much history as the Stampede itself to be outfitted in authentic western wear from head to toe - so nobody will suspect your real identity.
You’ll be fitted for your very own white Smithbilt hat, an internationally recognized symbol of Calgary and of Western hospitality, and a gift that is presented to every visiting politician, celebrity and athlete since World War II. In fact, every Canadian Prime Minister and every U.S. President of the last 50 years has been presented with a Smithbilt White Hat! Then it’s off to the Alberta Boot Company for custom cowboy boots just like the Hollywood filmmakers request – these folks even make the boots for the world-famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
From there, you’ll be whisked to the world-famous Stampede Rodeo - but don’t expect to get too comfortable just yet. You’re going to see it from a cowboy’s point of view, as you go behind the bucking chutes and get some dirt (and maybe other stuff) on those new boots.
The Best Seats in the House
When you’re done roughing it, it’s time to move on upstairs to the best seats in the house to watch the actual rodeo from an exclusive club called The Lazy S. Here you’ll dine on Alberta beef and other tempting offerings while sipping wines that even the best restaurants in town don’t have on their lists.
By now you’ll have realized that despite your attempt to fit in like a real cowboy, there is someone following you. It’s not the paparazzi - just your private photographer who is capturing all the events of your special day on film.
And They’re Off!
After the rodeo, your tour picks up again with a visit behind the scenes as preparations are made to present the GMC Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races and a spectacular outdoor stage show under the starry sky. And speaking of those races, you’ll be watching them from a private suite just a few feet away from the start and finish line as you munch on more delicious food. Not close enough? Then we’ll take you to the rail to feel the pounding of the hoofs and the spray of the dirt from inches away and then up to the “Eye in the Sky” to see a bird’s-eye view of this western spectacular.
It’s Showtime
When the races conclude, it’s back to The Lazy S for amazing seats for the show. Just when you think it can’t get any better, we’ll take you to the launch site of the fireworks finale and you’ll get to push some buttons to set the sky ablaze as the day draws to a close.
For $3,500 per person you get a space along with up to five friends and your private tour guide, including the bragging rights the next time you’re at a cocktail party with Brad Pitt or Jake Gyllenhaal.
